Danfoss DML Series

Danfoss DML hermetic filter driers protect refrigeration and air-conditioning systems from moisture, acids, and solid particles. With these contaminants eliminated, systems are protected from harmful chemical reactions (acid formation by hydrolysis) and abrasive damage to the compressor, expansion device, and solenoid valves.

The DML uses a 100% molecular sieve solid core, giving high drying capacity. The bonded solid-core grains cannot move against each other, eliminating powder formation, and the relatively large drier diameter keeps liquid flow velocity suitably low. As a reference point from Danfoss documentation, a DML 53 can reduce moisture in 8.5 kg of R134a from 1050 ppm to 75 ppm at 24 °C. (The companion DCL series uses an 80/20 molecular sieve/activated alumina blend for acid adsorption in high-condensing-temperature systems.)
