Danfoss ETS Series

Danfoss ETS electric expansion valves provide precise liquid injection into evaporators under electronic control. The valve is driven by a 2-phase bi-polar stepper motor that holds position without power; power pulses from a driver rotate the spindle, whose rotation is transformed into linear piston motion. Matched with a Danfoss superheat controller and pressure/temperature sensors, ETS valves deliver the precision that mechanical TXVs cannot — tighter superheat, better part-load efficiency, and wider operating envelopes.

The piston design is pressure balanced, giving true bi-flow capability with near-identical performance in both directions, plus solenoid-tight shut-off in both flow directions — often eliminating separate solenoid valves from the circuit.
