Danfoss KVP Series

The Danfoss KVP is an evaporator pressure regulator installed in the suction line after the evaporator. It maintains a constant minimum evaporating pressure — and therefore a minimum evaporating temperature — regardless of falling suction pressure elsewhere in the system. This is essential in multi-evaporator installations where different evaporators must run at different temperatures on a common compressor, and in applications where product must be protected against freezing or dehumidification.

Rated and extended capacities for KVP valves are calculated with Danfoss's Coolselector®2 engine to ARI standards, giving procurement engineers reliable selection data.

Sizes available — the number is the line size, not the capacity: KVP 12 (½ in / 12 mm, flare or solder), KVP 15 (⅝ in / 16 mm, flare or solder), KVP 22 (⅞ in / 22 mm, solder), KVP 28 (1⅛ in / 28 mm, solder) and KVP 35 (1⅜ in / 35 mm, solder). All five share a 0–5.5 bar regulating range with a factory setting of 2 bar. Flare connections exist only on KVP 12 and KVP 15 — everything larger is solder only.

Fit a KVP when a cold room over-cools on part load, an evaporator frosts up, product is drying out from too low an evaporating temperature, or two rooms at different temperatures are running off one compressor. Send us the duty and the line size and we will confirm the frame size.
