Sporlan VVE Series

The Sporlan VVE is a Type V body thermostatic expansion valve for R-22 with external equalization — V (body type) + V (R-22 refrigerant code) + E (external equalizer). The Type V (together with the Type W) is Sporlan's classic double-ported large-capacity design: two seating discs operating on a common shaft double the effective port area, delivering the highest capacities of the traditional flanged line for major industrial evaporators.

One engineering consequence procurement teams should know: because either of the two ports can be held partially open by debris, double-ported valves are more sensitive to system contamination than single-port designs. Sporlan explicitly directs that an adequately sized Catch-All® filter-drier be installed ahead of the TEV — pair every VVE with the matching Catch-All (see RC_PROD_040).
