Danfoss ICS Series

Danfoss ICS valves are pilot-operated servo valves from the ICV Flexline™ platform, built around three components: valve body, function module, and top cover. By fitting different pilot valves (screwed directly into the valve head or installed in an external pilot line), one ICS valve platform delivers pressure regulation, temperature regulation, or on/off operation — on the high- and low-pressure sides, in wet and dry suction lines, and in liquid lines without phase change.

The modular concept is a genuine inventory advantage for industrial plants: all standard pilots fit all ICS sizes, function modules and top covers combine freely across bodies, and the servo function can be exchanged for an ICM motor module on the same housing. The special regulating cone V-port design allows higher temperature setpoints and better COP, contributing to energy savings.

Body sizes available: Danfoss ICS 25, ICS 32, ICS 40, ICS 50, ICS 65, ICS 80, ICS 100, ICS 125 and ICS 150 (DN 25 to DN 150, Kv 1.7 to 410 m³/h). There is no ICS 20 — 20 mm exists only as an undersized connection on the ICS 25 body.

Pilot configurations: ICS1 (one pilot port) and ICS3 (three pilot ports — SI and SII in series, P in parallel), written in the field as ICS1 32, ICS3 40 and so on.

Function modules: ICS 25 is the only size with a choice — ICS 25-5, ICS 25-10, ICS 25-15, ICS 25-20 and ICS 25-25. Sizes 32 and above take a single module matching the body. A complete field designation therefore reads like ICS1 25-20, 20 SOC.

Connections: D (butt weld DIN 2448), A (butt weld ANSI B36.10), J (butt weld JIS B S602), SOC (socket weld ANSI B16.11), SD (solder DIN 2856), SA (solder ANSI B16.22) and FPT. DN 100 to DN 150 are butt weld only. Pressure rating is 65 bar on DN 25 to DN 65/80 and 52 bar on DN 100 to DN 150.

Specify an ICS when an industrial ammonia or CO₂ plant needs one valve platform to cover pressure regulation, temperature regulation and on/off duty — the pilots change the function, the body stays the same, and your spares shelf gets a lot smaller.
