The Emerson TER is the entry frame of the T-Series large-capacity, balanced-port, take-apart thermostatic expansion valves — covering nominally 22 to 45 tons on R-22 (13–25 tons R-12; 14–27 tons R-404A/R-507). The T-Series take-apart architecture is the defining feature: the valve is assembled from three interchangeable, field-replaceable components — cage kit, body flange, and power assembly — so a failed valve is serviced in-line by swapping the affected component rather than cutting the whole valve out.
Balanced-port construction keeps superheat control stable across wide operating pressure ranges, and all large-capacity R-frames (TER, TIR, THR, TMR) are inherently externally equalized. External superheat adjustment and bi-directional capability round out a platform built for serviceability on big systems.
