Mafron R-404A is the HFC blend of R-125 (44%), R-143a (52%), and R-134a (4%) that became the global workhorse of low- and medium-temperature commercial refrigeration — supermarket racks, cold storage, freezer rooms, ice machines, and refrigerated transport. Near-azeotropic behaviour (glide ~0.7 K) keeps service practice straightforward, and Class A1 classification keeps it non-flammable and low-toxicity across the cold chain.
Per NFIL's own positioning, R-404A serves supermarkets, refrigerated vans, cold storages, and commercial refrigeration — exactly Refrigeration Controls' core customer base. The honest caveat: at GWP 3922 it is the highest-GWP mainstream refrigerant, first in line under HFC phase-down economics. We supply genuine gas for the installed base while advising operators on leak-tightness (the cheapest compliance strategy) and transition planning.
